A Study on the New Direction of Art Curriculum Based on the Stream of Art Curriculum and Comparative Analysis of International Art Curriculum

Abstract

This study suggests a new direction on art curriculum in Korea based on the history of artcurriculum and ideological changes.Korea's art curriculum has been influenced by Experience-centered curriculum,Learning-centered curriculum and Human-centered curriculum, since the modern era. Recently,post-structuralism and post-modernism in art emphasize the relativity and individuality, andthose flows affect art curriculum by emphasizing student's own competency.A new approach on art education for students means a implementation of art curriculumwhich strengthens individual's competency, and it is meaningful to understand demand anddirection of art education for students.
